The Gemstone Turquoise....
Turquoise is probably the most sought after Precious stone for jewelery and lapidary work of arts. Scientifically it is - Hydrated Copper Aluminum Phosphate. It's color can range from sky blue shades to greenish blue. It has been mined for hundreds of years, and has been seen in very ornate work, carved, Native American jewelery, and is very popular even still today hundreds of years since it's discovery. The name of this beautiful stone comes from a french word meaning "Stone of Turkey", The finest of this precious stone comes from Iran, But there is also very fine specimins found in the United States.
